Since then, Perimeter Solutions has worked alongside firefighters to help protect property and save lives from wildfire.<\/p><p>Since PHOS-CHEK\u2019s introduction, we have continually innovated to improve its effectiveness and safety. One thing that hasn\u2019t changed is that phosphate remains the active ingredient in all PHOS-CHEK fire retardant solutions. Why? More than 80 years of research has proven that it is the most effective, safest, and environmentally responsible chemical to use to prevent the spread of wildfires.<\/p><p>The unique advantage of phosphate-based products for aerial firefighting is that phosphate works chemically, with the fuel, to change the way cellulose decomposes, rendering it non-flammable. Phosphate has been tested and proven more effective in preventing the spread of fire than dozens of other chemical solutions, including ammonium chloride, polyvinyl acetate, potassium carbonate, sodium silicate, boric acid, and magnesium chloride.<\/p><p>Over the years, better thickeners were developed to improve drop characteristics, more sophisticated corrosion inhibitors were added, enhanced flow conditioners made mixing easier and more efficient, and changes were made to improve its environmental profile.<\/p><p>FIRE-TROL\u00ae retardants were added to our product portfolio in 2007, and a year later, the acquisition of French-based BIOGEMA\u00ae further expanded it.<\/p><p>Today, PHOS-CHEK and FIRE-TROL long-term fire retardants remain at the forefront of global wildfire management. Our most recent advancement is PHOS-CHEK LCE20-FX, is a next-generation liquid concentrate that offers superior performance and environmental profile.<\/p><p>We support our long-term fire retardants with a broad range of service and equipment solutions.
